6.2. Fill out PDF forms

PDF Expert 7 lets you easily fill out invoices, application forms, and tax forms.

How to fill out PDF forms

  1. Open a form in PDF Expert.
  2. Tap an active field or checkbox.
  3. Type the text or select a value.

Note: If you don’t want PDF Expert to highlight active form fields, open Settings > Page Viewer and disable the Highlight form fields toggle.

Form elements supported in PDF Expert:

  • Text fields — tap the active area and type the text.
  • Checkboxes and radio buttons — tap to make a selection.
  • Drop-down lists — tap a field to select an option from the list.
  • Calculation fields — type some numbers, and the calculations are made automatically.
  • Date and time fields — tap a field and select a date or time on the keyboard.
  • Signature field — tap it and select a signature to use. My Signature is your signature which saved in the app and can be reused. Customer Signature is a one-time signature created by a person who signs the document. Learn more about signing documents in PDF Expert.

PDF Expert supports AcroForms created in Adobe Acrobat or other similar apps and Static XFA forms created in Adobe LiveCycle. Check this article to learn more about the supported forms.

How to clear a PDF form from all data

  1. Open the needed form.
  2. Tap at the top right of the screen.
  3. Select Clear Form.
  4. Tap Yes in a pop-up window.

To clear a particular form field, tap it and select Clear Field on the keyboard.

How to fill out a non-interactive PDF form

If a form has no active fields, you still can fill it out in PDF Expert:

  1. Open a form.
  2. On the top toolbar, select Fill & Sign.
  3. Select Text and tap where you want to add text.
  4. Type your text.
  5. To mark a checkbox, select Checkmark or Cross and tap where you want to insert it.
  6. To fill out the date field, select Dateand tap where you want to place it.
  7. To change the date format as well as font and text color, tap the date and select Properties.
