4.10. Use search in PDF Expert 7

PDF Expert 7 offers multiple types of search:

Search in the file manager:

On iPad, tap the search field at the top left and type your query.

On iPhone, swipe down from the middle of the screen to reveal the search icon. Tap it to start searching.

At the top of the keyboard, you can select a particular file type to search for:

PDF Expert 7 shows the results from the current folder at the top.

Search for a word in multiple PDF files:

  1. Tap the search field in the file manager.
  2. Under the search field, select File Contents.
  3. In a pop-up message, tick Enable.
  4. Type your query. PDF Expert shows all files containing the word or phrase you specified. The search may take some time.

Note: Once you open a PDF from the search results, you won’t be redirected to the page with the word you searched for. Tap the search icon inside the PDF file. The phrase you were looking for will appear in the search field automatically so you can quickly jump to the page with the needed word.

Search inside a PDF file:

  1. Open a PDF document.
  2. Tap the search icon and type your query.
  3. You can switch between the Text and Thumbnails tabs under the search field to view the results in the most convenient way.

Search through bookmarks, annotations, and outlines:

  1. Open the needed PDF file.
  2. Tap .
  3. Select either Bookmarks, Outlines, or Annotations tab.
  4. Slightly scroll down to reveal the search field.
  5. Type your query.
  6. While searching through annotations, you can filter them by color. Just tap the color wheel near the search field and pick the color you wish.
