1.6. File cannot be opened

If you have issues with opening one of your files in PDF Expert, please see the list of the supported file formats in PDF Expert User’s Guide available here.

Note: PDF Expert for iPad supports filling out AcroForms created in Adobe Acrobat or other similar apps and Static XFA forms created in Adobe LiveCycle. Dynamic LifeCycle (XFA) forms are not supported by the application. Check this link to see the list of supported scripting in Acroforms and click here to look through supported scripting in XFA (LiveCycle Designer) forms.

If the content of the file is not displayed as expected or the app cannot open the file, please send us your document at rdsupport@readdle.com (check out Readdle privacy policy here). This will prompt our Support Team to investigate the matter and get back to you with a solution as soon as possible.

In case no file can be opened or files look blank/broken, please restart the device; if the issue persists, please send this file and a crash log to us at rdsupport@readdle.com:

  1. Open the iOS Settings app > Privacy, scroll down and tap Analytics > Analytics data.
  2. Find the latest PDF Expert 6 crash log and send it to us. We will get back to you as soon as we can.

If files open slowly, please provide us with a detailed log at rdsupport@readdle.com; try closing all tabs in the meantime. To send the detailed log:

  1. Open app settings > Support > enable Detailed logging toggle.
  2. Recreate the issue.
  3. Go back to the Support section > Send Feedback.
