7.2. Sync PDF files via iCloud Drive

PDF Expert allows you to store your files in iCloud Drive and keep them up-to-date across all your devices.

In order to sync selected files via iCloud, drag and drop the necessary file to the iCloud tab in the PDF Expert. To quickly transfer several files into the iCloud, open PDF Expert, tap Edit, select the files, choose Move or Copy on the sidebar, select iCloud folder, and tap Copy.

If the files are uploaded to iCloud successfully, they will be available in the iCloud tab in PDF Expert or Documents on another iOS device provided the second device is connected to the same iCloud account. You can gain access to PDF Expert iCloud files in other applications which support iCloud Drive. For this, open iCloud Drive section within the application and select the PDF Expert folder.

In PDF Expert, you can access iCloud files via the iCloud folder and iCloud Drive sections.

  • The iCloud section of the PDF Expert app is an app's iCloud container. It contains files from the PDF Expert/Documents folder of iCloud Drive and allows you to sync files from the app to iCloud and access them in the iCloud folder PDF Expert or the Documents app on another iOS device and in Finder > iCloud Drive > PDF Expert/Documents by Readdle folder on your Mac.
  • The iCloud Drive can be accessed by opening iCloud  > iCloud Drive. You can access all other folders of iCloud Drive in this section, edit files, and sync changes to iCloud. Please note:  You will see other files' aliases in iCloud Drive but the aliases will not be seen in the iCloud folder of the app.

To export a single file to iCloud Drive, you need to open the file and tap "More" button > Share > "Save to Files" > select iCloud Drive and the necessary folder or tap "Save a copy" and choose "iCloud" as a destination folder. To copy/move the file in iCloud Drive, tap and hold on it and select the necessary option:

Syncing your PDF Expert documents between your Mac and your iOS devices can be also accomplished using iCloud. To check the PDF Expert documents on Mac, make sure to connect to the same iCloud account under System Preferences and open the iCloud Drive tab in Finder.

Please note: the folder can be called either PDF Expert or Documents since our apps use a single iCloud container.
